Owner of mturnip LLC Gardenscapes
Colorado Springs, Colorado
Jenn grew up on a small farm in Idaho, where her family raised cows, sheep, rabbits, and poultry. Her parents kept a large garden and a small orchard.
She has a BFA in Fine Arts from Montana State. While in college, she worked at a Community Food Co-Op and became acquianted with local food systems and community supported agriculture. She began growing a garden every place she went.
Jenn lived in Central Oregon for many years, where she volunteered at an inspiring organic farm and helped with an indoor farmers market. These experiences helped ignite a passion for nutritious local foods and learning about different methods of farming- regenerative, biodynamic, permaculture, sustainability etc. She later worked as a hand for an Alpaca ranch and for a local garden center.
She maintained an acre farm in Central Oregon. The property had greenhouses, an orchard, and lots of outdoor growing space. Homesteading goals in mind, she raised sheep, goats, and chickens. Grew hard-shelled gourds, vegetables, medicinal herbs, and flowers.
Around 2021, Jenn began work with Bend Urban Gardens and became lead builder. Bend Urban Gardens helped inspire an excitement for sharing knowledge about growing food even in tricky climates.
Over the past few years, Jenn participated in the Idaho Master Gardeners program and attended Idaho Horitculture Symposium. Upon moving to Colorado, she completed Colorado State University-Extension Green School and became a Certified Colorado Gardener. Jenn has worked at a local nursery for two years as a grower and attended ProGreen Expo in 2026.
